About this deal

Lower mid-tones are strong too, with hefty darker electronic tones and even some texture in bass guitars. The Soundcore A20i without stems that I reviewed last week, and the Soundcore P20i, that has a more traditional shape with stems. The vocals were clear when Qui-Gon narrated, whilst the orchestra was lovely and base-y, whilst the synths were edging towards a gritty feel at the higher range of the track. Comparing it with the other models from the range; the Soundcore A20i has a less articulated bass than the P20i, but comes with a more fluent and organic presentation with more open vocals, and more sense of space to give it a bigger sound.

I guess I’m very simple-minded when it comes to controls on earbuds, to the point I reach for my phone to do most things. While some songs benefit from this opened-up approach with more airiness, it's harsher and more tiring to listen to - you may want to switch back to the Bass EQ for music. Opening the earbud case, we have two earbuds, both with paper backing (and it is a good idea to remove it, so the earbuds can make electrical contact with the charging pins. However, Anker, a renowned name in audio technology, has stepped up to the plate with their latest innovation, the Soundcore Life P2i Wireless Earbuds. The Life P2 mini has three equalizers to choose from instead of P2i's two, but the latter has clear voice prompts that indicate the EQ you activate - and their purpose is more obvious: the higher one for podcasts, the Bass EQ for music. As we all know, it isn’t a nicety any more, it’s a requirement as we move into the single connector world (the fact that USB is a completely and utterly broken standard is beside the point. IPX5-Rated: A water-resistant rating of IPX5 means these earbuds can withstand sweat, rain, and water splashes from any direction.

The bass can have a slight crackle on louder to very loud volumes, but the music gets more engaging. The Treble Booster preset is a welcome addition, however, as it repairs some of the lost upper-mids and treble - regaining some balance in the sound, and making songs more lively. Thumping Beats: Life P2i true wireless earbuds are capable of producing some punchy beats thanks to their 10mm oversized drivers. Unfortunately, there is no gaming mode to reduce the delay of sound effects when you're playing games.

Advanced Bluetooth technology improves audio quality and enables stable connectivity, making music playback and conversations smoother. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. This mode accentuates the low frequencies, adding an extra layer of richness and depth to your audio. It won't cost you extra, yet it will financially support me a bit in my ongoing quest for great affordable audio.

There’s no need to worry about downloading software onto your device to manage them and it’s easy enough to put them back into pairing mode if needed. While this makes voices very clear, it lets in a bit of a hissing underneath higher musical notes, and it also shows sibilance - audible hissing of sss-tones in voices and music. Life P2i true wireless earbuds support Fast Charging, giving you 1 hour of use when charged for 10 minutes. And here’s where it breaks down for me – in our world, there is a lot of trust is needed for any technology we use.Hour Playtime: Get 8 hours of playtime on a charge and pop these back in their case for an extra 28 hours throughout the day. The bass power mostly comes from the mid-bass, which is powerful and punchy, but can at times rumble a bit too loosely or be a bit overbearing in songs already pushing the bass out of itself. It’s an eclectic mix – mostly actually lives on my iPhone for straight transfer to the audio device. Fast Charging: A quick 10-minute charge gives you 1 hour of use, so you’ll never be without your music. Additionally, the earbuds are designed to be compatible with multiple devices, allowing you to effortlessly switch between them without the hassle of repairing.

Onto Crab Rave by Noisestorm – as there is a law that every tech review has to use it, and the results we got in Corcovado are mirrored here, with a thumpy base, but instruments at the top of the earphone range can be a little tinny.I traded up to the larger silicon tips, where they did a little better – but, considering nearly every headphone/earbud set that has passed through Economy Class and Beyond towers has had the default ear tips left on them and were “fine”, it’s a little disappointing. The charging case boasts an impressive battery capacity of up to 28 hours, providing you with extended listening time on the go. One in, one out gives me a lot more situational awareness, as these do not have a Transparency Mode on them. The shiny black charging case must be the most generic looking design in all of Soundcore's lineup, but at least it's efficient, with the earbuds lying in the case AirPods-style - meaning you have to pick them up from the top. The P2 Mini has a fatter bass, but the P2i controls it better, and the same goes for highs - they are more controlled on the P2i than the P2 Mini's.
