The machine should also be capable of speeds up to 3000rpm and have variable speed control and a slipping clutch. The segements are studded with diamonds to ensure sufficient hardness to drill through tough materials. This drill bit has been laser welded to improve durability and robustness and is manufactured with slots in the barrel which is designed to help clear debris.
